Lupus Nephritis

New model helps predict remission probability of patients with lupus nephritis

Posted on

For the first time, a model may help predict the remission probability of patients with lupus nephritis (LN), according to a study that found the model was easily used in clinical practice.

Patients who had received renal biopsy (210 patients in the training and 91 patients in the validation group). The final prognostic model included the course of LN, gender, 24h-proteinuria, creatinine, triglycerides, FIB, Complement C3, anti-dsDNA antibody, tubular atrophy, and classification of kidney biopsy.

In the training group, the areas under the curve (AUC) of the 1-year prediction was 77.12, the 2-year prediction was 77.98, and the 5-year prediction was 87.01. In the validation group, it was 81.42, 87.20 and 92.81, respectively, indicating good performance in predicting the remission probability of LN.
